Object Name Plate, Commemorative
Date 1992
Description Porcelain commemorative plate given to North Thurston High School. The plate is white with images and German words on the face in black paint. At the top is "Kirchhain - Stadt an Ohm und Wohra". There are images of three buildings and underneath the words "Rathaus", "Ganseburg", and "Kirchaufgang". There is also an image of a woman and geese standing on what looks like a concrete structure with a tree behind and below the words "Ganse-Brunnen". Clouds are painted around the buildings. On the back is a plastic and metal ring for hanging, and a rectangular piece of paper taped to the plate. On the paper are the words "Zur Erinnerung an die Erstbegegnung im Schuleraustaush der Gesamtschule Kirchhain und der North Thurston High School, Lacey, WA vom 15, Oktober bis 6. November 1992 mit allen guten Wunschen" , and "Magistrat der Stadt Kirchhain, Burgermeister". A signature is written in ink above the word "Burgermeister". Also on the paper is a stamp in blue ink with the words around the outside "Stadt Kirchhain Landkkrain Marburg Biedenkopf". In the center of the stamp is an image.
